I like my friend how do i tell him?!?

ugh............... i like my best guy friend, he calls me his sister and vice versa, he always comes to me if he has a problem and once again vice versa, he always wants to hang out with just me and him, he gives me hugs all the time, i really like him, but he wants a relationship whereas i just want to keep it kind of simple i really wanna date him, but im to scared to tell him and i dont want a relationship, but dammit we get along so well hes so cute and funny, and he tells me stuff that makes me want to faint, its extremely weird because its so easy to talk to him, but i dont want to loose him as a friend im not sure if he likes me to and the last time i told someone i liked them i got shot down, which makes me even more scared, what the heck do i do?
