Is ground fighting realistic?

In a fight for life anything goes. As for the things you see on TV or Youtube you have to remember those are sanctioned fights that have rules. So of course those tactics would change the game if your fighting to survive. But ground fighting still has it's place in combat, wether in the ring or street.
