Getting rid of a canker sore?

Hi, i have a canker sore on the side of my tongue and it is right in the line of my teeth so any time that i talk, eat, or drink anything, it hurts and the pain usually doesnt go away until i keep my mouth still for a little bit. And as a natural reaction to pain my mouth produces spit/saliva which i then either have to spit out or swallow and both in turn cause pain. what are some remidies that work very quickly and will eliminate it quickly?
