Where is a good place for a young couple to go away for a long weekend in the south east of England?

Me and my boyfriend are trying to rekindle the romance in our relationship so thought we'd go away for a long weekend, just the two of us. Only problem is we have no idea where to go. We live in Hastings in East Sus England and don't want to go to far from home. But we'd like to go somewhere thats got a nightlife but isn't too busy and that has also got some entertainment during the day time. Any Ideas?
