I am looking for a new anime to get into.?

I am bored with the anime i already own and am looking to watch more and i don't want to start naruto shippuden until it comes out in english (i know i know, it's better in english sub). Just please give me a few titles and a brief synopsis and if you really want to be nice, give a short description of something really cool or creative that happens in the series or movie, like a fight or something.
